This is a historical RPG that semi-accurate and realistic. It takes place 200 years pre-Jamestown settlement. This doesn't mean that there will be no settler interaction as well. It is celebratory of Native American culture and is set in a tribal way of living.
Any level of RPG-er is welcome to the site and there is no word count, which encourages new writers to join. It is very user friendly and the forms can allow for a simple character or one that is endlessly intricate.

Plot Information:
The U'tana tribe is one of two olden time tribes that survived among the grasslands and mountains of a large valley located in the approximate area of the Appalachian Mountains. You could consider it modern day Tennessee. The geography is quite warm in the summer but gets quite cold in the winter time, to the point of starvation for the clans if enough food isn't gathered. Life is harsh and sometimes is not long in the ancient lands.
U'tana descended from the initial chief of the plains, Chief U'tana who is drawn on the wall of the 'Grand Wall' atop his ebony steed. Many of the descendents derived from him and friends of his. That is how the U'tana tribe got its name.
It lives among the Buffalo and wild range Mustangs in the plains where grasses grow tall and live in the figure that many associate with Native Americans "tee-pees". They are made traditionally of buffalo skin dried. The U'tana respect nature greatly and use every part of the animals they kill from the herds. Bones are used for hunting materials and as drum sticks for celebrations. Skins and furs are used for clothing and for housing and sometimes even musical instruments.
Religion wise, they worship all the nature spirits of the earth and wind. Their main line of worship befalls to the sun spirits, who they claim bring the life of the plants by its sunlight and blame the moon for the darkness that their kind faced long ago when their lands were overtaken by dark forces, they believe.
The Kyl a'di tribe lives in the mountains above the valley and are used to the chillier weather of the mountains. They have much different living conditions than the U'tana and claim to be more civilized as well. Since they live in the mountains, they have great access to trees. They make their huts out of trees and have constructed log cabin-type developments. They also use mud huts as well for healers and various building types. It is very difficult for them to cut wood and can take years for just a longhouse, so most houses are made of rock and mud.
They mainly hunt deer but have no use for extra spare parts as they enjoy quiet musical rituals and usually vocalize more then beat on the drums. They live a quieter lifestyle, you could say.
Kyl a'di warriors hunt big cats as well to keep them warm in the winter, and this is seen as a disgrace to the U'tana, who respect all creatures and know when they use the meat, they must use the bone too. They are devout worshipers of the moon because she brings them cool from the sun's heat. They do not enjoy the sun due to the
All of the disagreements stemmed from the initial U'tana tribe which existed thousands of years before the Kyl a'di tribe. Kyne, a female warrior and Daloni, the current chief had their disagreements of which spirits to honor and which to discard from their sacred practices. They also had different hunting beliefs, and Kyne was known to be brazen in the face of her superiors.
For her beliefs and the horrid things she had said of the sun, she was threatened banishment but left with her three sons: Atsotasgi,Galotsadi, and Uwolanv. Together, they took nearly half of the tribe and some of neighboring tribes to form their very own from the ashes. They called themselves the Kyl a'di or "Sons of Kyne", who was thought of as their queen for years to come until her untimely demise by poison berries. This was blamed blatantly on the U'tana tribe and that was when the first war was waged.
In it died Kyne's youngest son, Uwolanv and the wife of the chief of the U'tana. It was official. They hated each other and have been since trying to demise a plan to wipe out each other and each others' spirit.
Ever since the Kyl a'di found moon trees, a special tree that grows only from the moon's glow, they are determined to end the sun. The U'tana are trying to destroy their opponents as well, slowly as they find a way to take out the spirits that the Kyl a'di cherish.
Each are trying to gain alliances, but little do they know, there will be larger problems than each other to worry about. Before the first English settlers, Spain would come to various regions and the disease would spread like wildfire as well as the new creatures that the white men had to offer.
It would be a fearful reality. They knew nothing but bloodshed now, but the true war was yet to come.
