His pace was casual as he strolled through the red sand. He could feel his feet gradually sink into the sand below him with each step. The loose terrain usually made it difficult to traverse quickly. Though swiftness was not his goal. This was the destination he had been heading to. He had heard the stories, but this was the first time he had taken the time to come here himself. Looking around under the cloth of his hood he saw no one. Not unusual of course. He had no expectation of running into anyone out here. That was usually for the best anyways. He never did really fit in. Always socially awkward.
Mystic gazed up into the sky at the rift in the distance. It was truly an incredible sight despite it's constant reminder of why it was opened in the first place. It all started with both factions feeling the need to tear each other's throats open. He never could comprehend their hate for each other. Their magic may have been different, but was he the only who truly viewed magic as one single source? This was his goal. He wanted the answers to this question. Is new magic really that new? Or did it all originate the same way. That is how he truly believed it was. In essence it was all magic, new or old, it was still magic. He had hoped coming to this beach might lend him a clue or two in where to look afterwards. He didn't expect to find the answers here, but it made sense to go back to where it started and begin his search from there. He continued to stand on the beach as he now averted his gaze upon the waters of the ocean. The wind lightly brushed up against him carrying his loose cloth in it causing it wave to the wind's tune. He closed his eyes for a moment. Even in a place that had been filled with so much death and violence, there was still a hidden serenity deep within.
He opened his eyes and took a deep breath as he turned to continue walking. He often looked down at the sand hoping that he may find something notable to investigate. So far he had come across nothing, but he had only yet to arrive. He did not intend to stay long however. He never did stay long where ever he went to begin with. He had to remain mobile. He had often felt there were too many curious eyes constantly on the lookout for him. Whether that was true or not, he was not willing to take the chance. Luckily in past encounters he was able to fool others into believing what they saw simply resided in their own imagination. That's how he hope to keep things. Peaceful.
